Our process starts with seed reception and ends with packaging. Everything in between is dedicated to top-notch quality and perfect traceability. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look.
Each year, we receive around 5,000 seed lots. Every lot undergoes strict inspection. Not clean? We clean it. Too moist? We dry it. Each batch gets its own number, ensuring we know exactly where it came from and its specific details.
Our quality assurance begins in the lab. Annually, we conduct 9,000 tests to determine the germination capacity and mechanical purity of each seed. Following strict international protocols, we ensure consistent top quality. One of these tests is for weed content, and the lab advises our cleaning team based on its findings.
In the cleaning facility, seeds are thoroughly processed. Using 18 different machines, we remove soil, plant debris, and weeds. Every year, we clean about 600 seedlots, combining modern technology with machines that have been doing their jobfor nearly a century.
The seeds are stored under perfect conditions to maintain their quality. Most are kept ina climate-controlled room at 17°C with 30% humidity. In our legume warehouse, which holds beans, peas, and broad beans, the humidity is slightly higher at55%, ensuring they stay in peak condition. The climate-controlled storagehouses 2,500 seed varieties, while the legume warehouse stocks 250 different types of legumes.
An impressive 39 million seed packets are ready to be filled. Our in-housedesigners create beautiful packaging, and we process kilometers of packaging material. Each material is scanned to ensure the right one is always used.
In production, 18 machines produce 55 million seed packets annually. These machines fold, cut, fill, and seal each packet perfectly, with a daily outputof up to 200,000 units.
Our warehouse, with a storage capacity of 10,000 m², handles 500–1,000 orders perweek from December to May, serving customers like DIY stores and gardencenters. It accommodates 7,500 pallets of finished and semi-finished products, with much of the processing done automatically.
On our4.5-hectare trial grounds, we conduct 2,500 tests annually. Open-pollinated(OP) varieties are maintained, through a strict selection process. We also testvariety trueness and purity. Even the photos for our packaging are taken here, surrounded by vibrant greenery.
Our greenhouses, covering 6,000 m², focus on biological pest control and sustainable cultivation methods. Natural predators like parasitic wasps areused to combat pests, and we use organic fertilizers.
With passion and pride, we keep everything in-house, ensuring quality from start to finish.
